Giddha is a folk dance form of women in the Punjab region of India and Pakistan. It displays the feminine grace, elegance and flexibility while it is energetic as the Bhangra dance form. Women perform this colourful dance form mainly on festivals and social events. Rhythmic traditional Folk Song and Clapping is the main accompaniment for this dance form.
Giddha has its origin from the ancient Ring Dance. Women use traditional dress like Salwar and Kameez in bright colours and wear jewellery. Hair is dressed in two braids, with folk ornaments and the dancers wear a tikka on the forehead.
