Mussoorie – Queen Of The Hills

Mussoorie is a Hill Station near Dehradun City of the Indian State of Uttarakhand, which is known as the Queen Of The Hills. It is about 35 kilometers from Dehradun and in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan Range. Landour is considered as part of Greater Mussoorie.

Mussoorie is at an altitude of 2,005 meters. The name Mussoorie is considered to be derived from Mansur, a Shrub indigenous to the area. The highest point is Lal Tibba which is at a height of about 2,275 meters. The climate is fairly Subtropical Highland Climate.

We had a short trip to Mussoorie and stayed in a private guest house there. Here are few pictures of Mussoorie, taken from the Char Dukan and nearby area.
