A Billion Years in 40 Seconds

A team of Geoscientists at University of Sydney have released a video which for the first time shows uninterrupted movement of the Earth’s Tectonic Plates over the past Billions of years.

The International Effort is aimed at understanding the planetary habitability and for finding metal resources needed for a low-carbon future. The video is based on new research published in the March 2021 edition of Earth-Science Reviews. It shows how land masses move around the earth’s surface.
