Dates and Figs Burfi
Dates & figs burfi is a gluten free dessert & an energy booster. It is fat free & sugar free. You can have it at any time of the day. Even those who are diabetic can indulge themselves with this super rich dish. It's packed & loaded with iron, fibre, protein vitamins & minerals.
Ingredients
- 500 grams Dates
- 500 grams Figs
- 30 grams Almond (With Skin)
- 20 grams Almond (Peeled)
- 50 grams Cashew Nut
- 50 grams Walnut
- 50 grams Pistachio
- 1 tsp Ghee (For greasing the plate)
Instructions
- Cut the Dates into small pieces
- Cut Figs into small pieces. Alternatively you can use the mixer to make into a paste
- Cut all the mixed nuts into thin long sticks or any shape of your desire
- Heat a pan, put the figs and keep mixing until it becomes soft and sticky. Add the dates to it. After about five minutes, the dates will become soft. Keep the flame on low. Heat and continue mixing till the dates and figs blend with each other. It should take about 10 to 15 minutes
- Add the mixed nuts to the dates and figs mixture. Mix it till the nuts are fully incorporated into the dates and figs
- Grease a plate with ghee and pour the mixture onto the plate. Flatten it with the help of a rolling pin
- Cut into desired shape
