Humans have taken their first trip inside a Hyperloop. Yes, this week saw news of first human trip inside Hyperloop, which is going to be the Future Of Travel.
Virgin Hyperloop announced the successful trip of first passengers in a Hyperloop Pod at its test base in Nevada on Sunday the 8th November 2020. They carried out test at its 500 metre DevLoop test site in Las Vegas, Nevada.
They have previously run over 400 unoccupied tests here. The journey completed in 15 seconds with two passengers inside. According to Virgin, it can reach top speeds up to 1080km/h.
History
The idea of transportation through evacuated tubes dates back more than a century. Virgin started with Hyperloop six years ago in a garage. The vision was to transform the way people move.
Hyperloop is a sealed tube or system of tubes with low air pressure through which Pods can travel. They can travel with with very less friction or air resistance. Hyperloop will be able to convey people and/or objects at hypersonic speeds while maintaining energy efficiency.

Josh Giegel, Co-Founder and CTO of Virgin Hyperloop said “Today we took one giant leap toward that ultimate dream not only for me, but for all of us who are looking towards a moonshot right here on Earth”.
The journey of Josh Giegel and Sara Luchian – the Director of Passenger Experience – was in the newly unveiled XP-2 Vehicle. This was designed by Bjarke Ingels Group and custom-built with safety and comfort in mind. The XP-2 Vehicle is named as “Pegasus Pod” which eventually can seat up to 28 passengers in commercial vehicles.
