One cup of Green Leafy Vegetables can significantly reduce the risk of Cardiovascular Diseases.
A new research from Edith Cowan University shows that one cup of Green Leafy Vegetables can significantly reduce the risk of Cardiovascular Diseases. It is about 60mg/day of Vegetable Nitrate. Dietary Inorganic Nitrate is a potential cardioprotective component which has abundant Nitric Oxide according to the researchers.
The team of researchers studied about the association between Vegetable Nitrate intake and incident Cardiovascular Diseases. They examined data from 53,150 Danish participants aged between 52 and 60 years. The studies found that people who consumed most nitrate-rich vegetables had about 2.5mmHg lower Systolic Blood Pressure and between 12 to 26% lower risk of heart disease.
