Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is a term used to describe certain chronic inflammation in the digestive tract of human beings. I was looking to find out reasons for bloating and gastric problems in connection with the Covid-19 virus infection. While on the search, I came across an article about IBD and thought it is worth sharing. The article says that IBD is of two types.
Ulcerative Colitis
Inflammation and Sores (Ulcers) along the superficial lining of the large intestine (colon) and rectum is one type of IBD.
Cohrn’s Disease
The second type of IBD is characterized by inflammation of the lining of the digestive tract. This can often involve the deeper layers of digestive tract.
The characteristics of both types of IBD are normally diarrhea, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, fatigue and weight loss. A person having IBD can become very weak and infirm as well as it can lead to life-threatening complications.
