Here are some pictures taken during our visit to the National Orchid Garden in Singapore.
Sir Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore, a keen Naturalist conceived and developed the idea of a National Garden starting 1822. He developed the first “Botanical and Experimental Garden” at Fort Caning. It was about 1988 that the Gardens we see today have taken shape. UNESCO inscribed the National Garden as a World Heritage site in 2015.
The National Orchid Garden was officially opened by Mr. Lee Kuan Yew a senior minister on 20th October 1995. Enjoy the pictures.
